- In the Czech Republic we still use Czech Crowns (Česká koruna) - CZK (Kč in Czech), not Euro. Exchange rate is currently: 1 Eur = 25,9 CZK. Although in most shops you can pay with international bank card, we suggest you to get at least a few crowns in case you go to some small bakery or other shop outside of the tourist zone.
- We have a good public transport in Prague and for a very good price. Unless you want to only use Uber, Lime scooters or walk (which is possible as well) we suggest you to get a 3-day (72h) ticket for public transport for 310 CZK (12€) or combine several 24h tickets (110 CZK) with 90 or 30 min tickets (32 and 24 CZK). At the airport you can get the tickets at the arrival hall from the red "PID" stand. At the main station you can get them from the clerk at the PID window or from one of many yellow ticket ATMs, these accept both bank card as well as coins.
- Via the web (or the app) http://spojeni.dpp.cz you can find the best public transport connection between any two stops.
- The neigbourhood of both the venue and the accommodation places are safe. It's safe to walk to the tram stop at night, it's safe to use public transportation even late in the evening. However, in public transportation and the tourist area be aware of pickpockets.
- You can follow news or exchange practipal tips, make plans for shared accomodation or journey at the special Facebook Event for the meeting here.
- Besides two workshops that Marisa Alcalá will facilitate during the EDN meeting, there will be a special two days workshop with her following just after the EDN meeting, held in Spanish and English. During this workshop Marisa will develop all the subjects you are interested in about traditional midwife and doula care, about using medicinal herbs and clay. For more information please contact Kataka at [email protected].
- For Saturday dinner we go to the restaurant close to the venue. It's called "U dobré myšlenky" and the address is Podskalská 27, Prague 2.
- You can walk there - just walk south, cross the river via any of the three bridges and go further south. It's like 20-25min walk along the river.
- You can use public transport - with combination of nr. 22/23 from "Újezd" to "Narodni divadlo" and nr. 17 from "Narodni divadlo" (this tram has the stop around the corner from the stop of nr. 22/23) to "Palackého náměstí" and walk the last stretch from the tram stop.
- You can also go with tram nr. 12 or 20 from "Újezd" to "Anděl" and from there tram nr. 5, 7 or 21 to "Palackého náměstí"
- or combine one tram with walking
